"Healing and restoring trust, connection and intimacy in relationships through intentional living, loving, relating."

Hello Again....Mary here....

With over seventeen years experience working with clients of all ages, including couples and families, I have worked with a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, marital conflict, co-parenting and divorce recovery – just to name a few.

So, what’s it like working with me? Sometimes, I ask questions to help you reach your own answers, and, other times, I challenge you and frequently give assignments to help you further work through what’s bothering you. Things I have heard repeatedly from clients is that they appreciate my down to earth, empathetic yet sometimes humorous approach.

Clients consistently verbalize that they appreciate the way I listen and genuinely care about them. I’m kinda like a wise teacher, nurturing/caring mom, wisecracking & sarcastic best friend/sister all rolled into one. I have also been described as a motivating coach and encouraging cheerleader. Most importantly, I like to think of myself as a fellow traveler.

“All in all life is pretty easy right now, and I feel like I have the right mindset about everything thanks to you. I’ve said it before, but I don’t know if you understand what an amazing influence you have had on my life. You helped me turn the lowest point of my life into my biggest opportunity.”

Together we can:

Create a clear vision of what you want to achieve.
Clear the blocks and discover the mindset and headspace that will allow you to enjoy it.
Develop an actionable plan for your life and together, design the perfect way to get there.
Seek out your inner hurts, confront them, heal them, and start you on the path of living life fully and intentionally.

I see you.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I.See.You. Let me be there for you. I am that empathetic, compassionate listener you have been longing for. I help adults with depression, anxiety, trauma and unfulfilling relationships reach their goals of greater overall life satisfaction by providing a place that feels safe. A space you can be vulnerable and truly be seen, perhaps for the first time in your life. We will work together to curate the life you’ve always wanted but weren’t sure how to achieve. With therapy/counseling you can learn how to go from simply getting by, to creating a life that excites and energizes you; one that leads you to a place of contentment, satisfaction and joy. I take a two-prong approach to therapy: Collaboratively we will uncover the origins of your patterns, while simultaneously discovering what coping skills you can implement for immediate symptom relief. I bring to the room a diversified approach to therapy. With over 15 years of clinical and personal experience, as well as countless hours of continuing education, I craft an approach to your therapy as unique as you are.

Walking the talk and climbing those
mountains – literally.

I take my self-development seriously and I’m on a continuing quest to be the best therapist & coach to my clients that I can possibly be. I don’t just talk the talk. A pleasant side-effect of my line of work is that I’ve coached myself into some pretty exciting achievements:
From couch potato
to climbing Half Dome in Yosemite.
Digging deep and doing the hard stuff. Pushing myself outside my comfort zone
From corporate cog to running my own business.
"An accomplishment/achievement doesn’t have to be as “big” as running a marathon or winning an Academy award. It could be as simple (and difficult) as setting boundaries with family members or getting back in the dating scene after 20 years. It’s nice to know someone is in our corner, cheering us on."

As your therapist & coach, I have privileged access to your dreams, desires, fears and struggles. It only seems fair that you learn a little bit about mine.

The Crux Of It All...

When my web designer asked me for a list of my achievements and accomplishments, I really struggled. I got to thinking about what makes something an accomplishment. What is an accomplishment for one person may be no big deal to someone else. I have allowed myself to stretch in ways I never thought were possible. I went from someone who didn't have any interest in travel to someone who enjoys traveling. I have gone from really introverted to someone who is much more comfortable in an extroverted role. Basically, when I see a self-imposed limitation, I challenge myself to overcome it.

Therapists are human beings with the exact same feelings as those of non-therapists. So in order for me to be at my best when sorting through various life struggles with clients, it is imperative that I do my own work. I am an advocate of regularly experiencing the "other side of the couch" and I do this through consistent therapy and Self-Improvement Weekends.

I used to think of working out as torture, now I enjoy it.  I went from hating running to running a 5K, partly because I found a purpose I could believe in...supporting Veterans! Since then, I've even climbed Half Dome which was an all day event. We left shortly after sunrise and didn’t get back to camp until well after sunset!

When I decided to return to school and pursue a Graduate Degree in Counseling, I took the bull by the horns and put in my all. As a result, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded Graduate Student of the Year.
