Meet Mary

With over fifteen years experience working with clients of all ages, including couples and families, I have worked with a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, marital conflict, co-parenting and divorce recovery – just to name a few.

So, what’s it like working with me?  Sometimes, I ask questions to help you reach

your own answers, sometimes I challenge you and frequently I give assignments to help my clients work on their issues. Things I have heard repeatedly from clients is that they appreciate my down to earth, empathetic yet sometimes humorous approach. Clients consistently verbalize that they appreciate the way I listen and genuinely care about them.

Qualifications

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in gerontology, as well as a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University.

I graduated with honors and received the “Graduate Student of the Year” award. I’ve done some guest speaking at various engagements on a variety of subjects.

I have received training in Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), which is an effective treatment for couples who are experiencing distress. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is an evidence-based psychotherapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR has been well documented in the literature for successful treatment of other mental health problems.

Testimonies

Occasionally, I receive letters from prior clients, I would like to share a couple with you. I have received permission to share and they have been kept anonymous.

“I’ve seen many therapists over the years and can honestly say without hesitation that you are THE BEST  therapist I’ve ever had! I mean seriously, you are a true hero, like a firefighter you entered my burning house and saved me! Thank you, Mary!”

“All in all life is pretty easy right now, and I feel like I have the right mindset about everything thanks to you. I’ve said it before, but I don’t know if you understand what an amazing influence you have had on my life. You helped me turn the lowest point of my life into my biggest opportunity.”
